Andrew Hunckler

Andrew is a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, Andrew studied percussion with Dr. John Wooton and was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, SoMiSPO (Southern Miss Steel Pan Orchestra), Southern Opera and Musical Theatre Company, principal percussionist of the Symphonic Winds, and section leader of The Pride of Mississippi Drum Line. Andrew keeps an active performing and teaching schedule. Currently he is a section percussionist for the Meridian Symphony Orchestra and Mississippi Gulf Coast Symphony, he also performs for musical productions and festivals in the area with organizations such as FestivalSouth, Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera, the Meistersingers, and many colleges and high schools. As an educator, Andrew has been on percussion staff with Oak Grove High School, Petal High School and, most recently, Germantown High School.
